Gary’s Retirement Celebrations

Gary Chastain has had an incredible tenure at Sherwood Forest! For more than 49 years, he’s been an inspiration to his fellow campers, alumni, staff, volunteers and friends of our organization.

To celebrate Gary, we hosted two wonderful events. In September, over 40 of Gary’s closest colleagues and friends enjoyed a day of Ice Cream in the Park – our continued tradition of desserts and friendship in Forest Park. Earlier this month, we gathered at our Lesterville site to share the camp experience with some familiar faces. We enjoyed great food and greater friends! Storytelling by the campfire was a special treat and a time to reflect on Gary’s service through the years.

Although he will be missed, we congratulate Gary on his retirement and thank him for his impact on the current and future community of Sherwood Forest.
