It’s official! On Saturday, June 1, we held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to mark the completion of construction for ourĀ Way More Than CampĀ campaign. Over 70 guests comprising of donors, volunteers, and contractors who made this project possible, traveled to camp to take part in the day’s festivities.

The ceremony took place on the porch of the New Dining Hall. Guests heard remarks from Megan Waite, the Vice President of Sherwood Forest’s Board of Directors; Rachel Presley, a Sherwood Forest Alum and current board member; Mila and Willie, current Counselors-In-Training; and Mary Rogers, our Executive Director.

After the ceremony, guests were able to tour the new spaces at camp. Tours went to Summit, our new village, the MAC, which houses our library and STEM lab, and Comfort Lodge, the new health center. Before heading back, guests shared lunch with our Mini Campers in the Dining Hall.

Thanks to everyone who made our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony a day to remember!
