For Leadership Training Program campers returning to Sherwood Forest, this summer has felt like re-capturing a year of their life. While they deeply appreciated the efforts of our staff to create the virtual Stay Camp program last summer, there’s just nothing like being back. The campers have also been thrilled to reunite with beloved members of our Program Team, namely Alexis, Rachel, Aliyah, Alex and Cedric.

Even with all of the COVID-19 restrictions in place this year, staff have found ways for Leadership campers to help out around camp and learn new skills. Of particular significance, Journey campers (9th grade Leadership Training Program youth) are putting together a cultural celebration night. This includes various activity pods to learn more about different cultures around the world. This is a project the group has been working on for months while meeting virtually and everyone is excited to see all their hard work come to fruition!

This Friday will mark the conclusion of 2021 summer camp sessions, however, school-year activities will begin once again. Whether it’s group outings in St. Louis or hiking trips down near Lesterville, Sherwood Forest staff is committed to providing opportunities for staying connected to camp this fall and winter. As everyone knows, camp never ends!
